After more than twenty years in the industry, founder Mandy Stierman saw firsthand how transactional, volume-driven models left clients underserved. Velocity was built as an alternative, a proudly independent, Alberta-based brokerage focused exclusively on commercial insurance and rooted in long-term relationships.

I bring over twenty years of insurance industry experience, having worked across every stage of brokerage operations, from processing and personal lines to building and managing a complex commercial book of business. Formerly an Account Executive with Spruceland Insurance, my well rounded expertise ensures you're in good hands.
After seeing how volume-driven, transactional models consistently left business owners underserved, I founded Velocity as a relationship-driven alternative: a proudly independent brokerage where clients work directly with an experienced broker who understands both the details and the bigger picture.

Ryan Stierman
Finance & Technology Lead
I bring over two decades of experience spanning finance, operations, and technology in senior executive leadership roles in small, medium and large organizations. Throughout my career, I have led financial strategy, enterprise-wide technology transformations, and the design of systems and processes that improved transparency, accountability, and decision-making across organizations. My process and design philosophy is grounded in a simple belief: technology should empower people, not overwhelm them.
In my role, in addition to managing financial operations and compliance, I champion Velocity’s commitment to customer-centered innovation and continuous improvement that allows our clients to review and manage their insurance program efficiently and enables our brokers to focus on their customers’ needs instead of administrative tasks.
